Delivery FAQ

MiniPress delivers home juicers and cold presses from Paarden Eiland to households and businesses across South Africa. This FAQ covers delivery areas, lead times, packing, and what to do when your parcel arrives.

Where we send orders from Paarden Eiland

Orders are packed at our Paarden Eiland base in Cape Town and sent to the main delivery routes we service: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, George, Stellenbosch and Somerset West. If you are ordering from a nearby suburb, rural address or a business park, the delivery method still depends on access, road conditions and the size of the carton.

Most home juicers and cold presses travel as boxed items with internal protection, but some units need extra care because of glass parts, metal screens or heavy motors. We label the parcels clearly so the receiving person can identify them at the door, in the warehouse or at a security gate. Please make sure the address and contact details are accurate before checkout, it avoids delays.

Lead times by city and route

Lead times vary by destination, collection queue and courier route. Cape Town deliveries are usually faster because the parcel stays within the metro, while Johannesburg, Durban and Pretoria often need a longer linehaul. George can also take a little longer because of route spacing and handover timing.

  • Cape Town Delivery and surrounding areas: usually the shortest transit window
  • Johannesburg Delivery, Durban Delivery and Pretoria Delivery: allow extra working days for intercity movement
  • George Delivery, Stellenbosch Delivery and Somerset West Delivery: timing depends on the day the parcel is handed over

If a driver cannot reach the address, the parcel may go back into the queue for another run. That is not ideal, so having someone available to sign makes a difference.

What your parcel looks like when it leaves us

We pack juicers and cold presses to reduce movement, vibration and moisture exposure. This matters for coastal humidity in Cape Town and Durban, where cartons can pick up dampness if they are left outside too long. Inside the box, the machine, auger, screens, jugs and smaller parts are kept separate so they do not knock against one another in transit.

For food-contact items, clean handling is important. Even before first use, keep the packaging dry and open it on a clean surface. If there is any visible dust from transit, wipe the exterior parts with a clean damp cloth and dry them fully before assembly. Do not run the unit if there is loose packing material near the feed chute or outlet.

How to receive and inspect the order

When your parcel arrives, inspect the outside before signing where possible. If the carton is crushed, torn or wet, note it on the delivery record and take photos straight away. A small mark on the box does not always mean damage inside, but it helps to check carefully before opening.

  • Confirm the model and accessories match your order
  • Look for cracked bowls, bent screens or split seals
  • Check that plugs, cables and removable parts are present
  • Keep all packaging until you have tested the machine

If anything seems out of place, stop and contact us through the enquiry form on our contact page. Please do not discard the foam inserts or bags too quickly, they help if a return inspection is needed.

Handling heavy boxes and awkward corners

Some cold presses are heavy enough for two people to lift safely, especially when the carton has a motor base and metal components. Use a level path, clear the stairs first and do not drag the box over rough paving. In apartment blocks and office buildings, security counters or loading bays can slow the handover, so it helps to have someone ready to receive the parcel.

If the delivery point has narrow passages, steep steps or limited parking, tell us early. That kind of detail helps the courier plan the drop more accurately. A little extra prep at the front gate can save a second trip, and it keeps the machine safer too.

After delivery: first checks before use

Before first use, read the assembly sequence carefully and make sure all washable parts are seated properly. For slow masticating juicers, the screen, auger and outlet parts must align correctly to avoid leaks or vibration. Centrifugal juicers usually need the lid, basket and latch to lock in place before the motor will run. Cold presses also need correct assembly so the feed tube and pressing parts work as intended.

  • Check that the plug and cable are intact
  • Make sure the unit is on a dry, stable surface
  • Wash food-contact parts before first use
  • Do not force frozen fruit, stones or hard pips into the machine

If the machine hums, rattles or refuses to start, stop there and ask for support. That prevents avoidable wear and helps identify a loose part, a seal issue or a cable plug problem early.

When a delivery needs a second look

Sometimes a parcel is delivered, but the box shows impact damage or a part is missing. In that case, keep the parcel as received and send through the details from the enquiry form on our contact page. Include the delivery area, the order reference if available, and a few clear photos of the packaging and the item.

Our team in Paarden Eiland can help with spare parts help, seal replacement, screen care, leak troubleshooting, noise vibration checks, storage care and brushes and tools guidance. If the issue is linked to first use, a video support call may help us narrow it down faster. We work through the problem step by step, no drama.
